The Fake Stimulus Bill Of 2021

By Ethan Hay
“It changes the paradigm. For the first time in a long time, this bill puts working people in this nation first. It’s not hyperbole. It’s a fact.”- President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
On March 11th, 2021, or the American Rescue act, or H.R. 1319 a $1.9 trillion COVID relief package, was signed into law by President Biden, and due to the passage of this bill, the President and Vice President Kamala Harris have embarked on a tour to promote the bill. The tour is to be called the Help America tour. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March of 2020, the countries economy, schools, and essentially lives of the American people has been shut down, with a few noticeable exceptions. As of today, there has only been two other stimulus bills, both of which were passed in 2020, the $2.2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security act or CARES act, S.3548, the most popular component of this act being the $1,200 stimulus check that the American people were given, and the Consolidated Appropriations Act, H.R. 133, which according to the Senate Historical Office is the longest bill in history, with 5,593 pages.
Some of the larger items of the American Rescue act $1.9 trillion are:
- An added $415 billion to the continuation of anti covid measures COVID.
- $360 billion to states, and local communities for economic relief.
- $176 billion for K-12 education programs.
- More funds to cybersecurity in lieu of the Solarwind security hack that occurred this year.
These are just several of the many things included in the bill, along with a $300 extended unemployment benefits which will be received by the American people in either April or May, and a $3,000 child tax credit that was proposed by Republican Senator Mitt Romney of Utah, however the most popular component about this bill is the $1,400 stimulus check that will be sent to the American people.
Now the question that has to be asked is what good will this do? One of the concerns raised, is will people want to go back to work? In a recent study conducted by YouGov, a whopping 86% of people currently working from home don’t want to go back to work. Not to mention that according to AARP thirteen major retail businesses have applied for bankruptcy, and according to a study by the American Restaurant Association, reported by FOX KTVU, 1 in 6 restaurants are going to be permanently shut down, all the while the mainstream media has all but ignored the increased rates of suicide that have risen among 11-21 year olds. Furthermore, there has been an increase in calls for raising the minimum wage, including an attempt to put it in the American Rescue act, which was only prevented by the senate parliamentarian, with many people ignoring the fact that doing so would destroy the economy due to the fact that doing so would bankrupt small to middle sized businesses. Not to mention that the American people have essentially surrendered their freedoms in states like New York, California, Michigan, and New Jersey which had instated, and only recently begun to lift due to political pressure, draconian restrictions, and fines for anyone who failed to comply, like the $15k fine for gym New York gym owner Robert Dinero.
The real relief package that should be fought for, and could turn the economy around, would allow for the reembracing of freedoms, save the government money, put children back in school, and allow people the opportunity to live their lives as they see fit, is the reopening of America, and maybe eventually the world. But many states and even the federal government seem to have no intention of giving up the emergency powers granted to them by the people. March 17th marks the one-year anniversary of the 15 days to slow the spread. Despite the fact that the World Health Organization has called for the reopening of schools, there are various teacher unions throughout the country that are refusing to allow their members back into classrooms, but in the process are exposing themselves as massive hypocrites, just ask Chicago Teacher Union member and Area Vice President Sarah Chambers, furthermore President Biden is being so magnanimous and merciful by saying that come the 4th of July of 2021, if the people are good, then they can have small gatherings with family and friends, to paraphrase.
Due to the mainstream media’s distortion of, and power-hungry politicians seeking to capitalize on the pandemic, we have seen the creation of an environment built entirely on fear that has seeped into every aspect of the common man and woman’s life. As such, the American people have truly given up their liberties for the sake of feeling secure. To quote Lord Acton, “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The American people must strip the public servants of the power that they have abused, return to the rule of law, and reclaim their freedoms. This is our home, let’s take her back.
