Dr. Fauci Scrambling to Hide From Rep. Steve Scalise and Rep. Jim Jordan

During the April 15, 2021, Congressional Hearing on Reopening America from COVID-19, Representative Scalise starts the hearing with some very powerful opening statements:
“Dr. Fauci, the question I get asked the most these days, is pretty simple; “If I got the vaccine, why can’t I resume my normal activities, why can’t my children go back to school, and why can’t I go to a restaurant with my friends again?” Neither the CDC, nor NIH, nor the White House have provided a satisfactory or consistent answer to that question. In the absence of logical guidance, Americans have done what American’s do better than anyone in the world. They’ve taken the initiative to safely get back to their everyday lives as fast as they can.”
He followed with talking about how the data has shown a HUGE difference of outcome in states who implemented minor lockdowns to those states that appeared to be “zealots” when locking down. The difference in the data is vast and it shows that those states who locked down more severely and for longer periods of time, like New York and California, actually did worse than those who stayed open in most capacities for the majority of the pandemic, like Florida and Texas. He speaks to the outrage of Big Tech censoring, saying:
“Just last week, YouTube took down a video of a round-table that Governor DeSantis of Florida led, talking with doctors about kids, and school, and masks. YouTube has cited CDC Guidance as the reason they took down that video. Why would anyone want to silence a Governor of a state, on the frontline of this pandemic, holding a round-table with doctors about best practices regarding their own experiences in the real world and sharing what they’ve learned?”
Representative Scalise went on to talk about the double standards of the CDC guidelines when it comes to Americans, and the illegal immigrants being held at the border and then shipped to cities all across America. He stated:
“Last week, I led ten of my colleagues to the US/Mexico border, to see firsthand the devastating national security, humanitarian and health crisis that President Biden has created at our southern border with his disastrous open-borders policies. At the Donna Processing Facility, we encountered thousands of migrants cramped into makeshift shelters, in overcrowded rooms that were more than ten times the capacity limits that have been set. We saw children in tears, who simply wanted to go back home to be with their families, but instead they were here in these federally-run holding cells with at least a 10% COVID positive rate. Many of them being held for three weeks, well over the legal limit. President Biden also is not fully enforcing Title 42 of the Public Health Safety Act, designed to prevent migrants from spreading COVID in the United States. Since president Biden took office, families with children under 7 are being dropped off at the McAllen Texas bus station and being released from custody. No COVID tests, no quarantines, no enforcement that ALL Americans have to follow.”
Now we get to the fun part. After 5 VERY long minutes of Maxine Waters praising Dr. Fauci and stating that he personally “saved millions of lives” and that she “loves” him, the floor was given to Representative Jim Jordan. The first thing out of Rep Jordan’s mouth is:
“Dr. Fauci, when is the time? (long pause) When is the time? (long pause) In your written statement you say, “Now is not the time to pull back on masking, physical distancing and avoiding congregate settings.” When is the time? When do Americans get their freedom back?”
Dr. Fauci starts to respond, saying:
“When we get the level of infection in this country low enough that it is not a really high threat-”
Rep. Jordan interjects:
“What is low enough? Give me a number. I mean we had 15 days to slow the spread and that turned into 1 year of lost liberty. What metrics, what measures, what has to happen before Americans get more freedoms?”
Dr. Fauci responds with:
“My message, Congressman Jordan, is to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as we possibly can to get the level of infection in this country low enough that it is no longer a threat. That is when and I believe when that happens, you will see-”
Rep. Jordan interjects again:
“What determines when? What? What measure? Are we gonna just continue this forever? When does, when do we get to the point? What measure? What standard? What objective? What outcome do we have to reach before Americans get their liberty and freedoms back?”
Dr. Fauci answers:
“You know you’re indicating liberty and freedom. I look at it as a public health measure to prevent people from dying and going to the hospital-”
Rep. Jordan interjects again:
“ You don’t think Americans’ freedoms have been threatened this last year Dr. Fauci? They’ve been assaulted! Their liberties have!”
Dr. Fauci states:
“I don’t look at this as a liberty thing, Congressman Jordan. I disagree with you on that completely.”
Rep. Jordan shouts:
“Well that’s obvious! Do you think the Constitution is just suspended during a virus? During a pandemic? Certainly not!”
Dr. Fauci continues on with the same thing:
“This will end FOR SURE when we get the level of infection very low. It is now at such a high level, there is a major threat again of major surge-”
Rep. Jordan interjects again:
“Dr. Fauci, Dr. Fauci, over the last year, Americans’ 1st Amendment Rights have been completely attacked. Your right to go to church, your right to assemble, your right to petition your government, freedom of the press, freedom of speech have all been assaulted. I mean for a year now, Americans haven’t been allowed to go to church and even today when they do go to church, they are limited to the size of worshipers who can meet. Your right to assemble! Last fall we had a curfew in Ohio. You had to be in your home by 10pm. In Pennsylvania, when you were in your home you had to wear a mask. In Vermont, when you were in your home you didn’t have to wear a mask because you weren’t allowed to have people over to your house! For a year, American Citizens haven’t been able to come to their Capital and petition their government, to talk to their representatives. And freedom of the Press, these very pictures that Rep. Scalise just showed and talked about. Guess what, the Press hasn’t been allowed in those facilities. The Biden Administration will not let the Press in there. And freedom of speech. The governor of our 3rd largest state meets with physicians and that video is censored because they dare to disagree with Dr. Fauci. So I just want to know, When do Americans get their 1st Amendment liberties back?”
This back and forth goes on for five minutes with no clear answer from Dr. Fauci. When Chairman Clyburn answers Rep. Jordan with, “I’ll give you a time. When 90% of the members of congress are vaccinated” Rep. Jordan goes on to say, “Well I want to know if that’s what Dr. Fauci says. Is it 90% Dr. Fauci? Is it 90%? That’s what I’d like to know. Give us some objective standards versus a “when things maybe reach a point we might get our liberties back.” When, what are the numbers? Just tell me the number.” Chairman Clyburn attempts to recognize another representative when Rep. Jordan shouts, “I’d like my question answered! Mr. Chairman, I don’t want you to answer my question. The American People want Dr. Fauci to answer my question.” Maxine Waters interrupts multiple times even to throw in a little jab at Rep. Jordan, stating, “Your time has expired sir! You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth!”
After watching the video linked below, here are some questions I think all American’s should be asking themselves. It is ok to come to separate conclusions, but these questions deserve to be asked and they deserve an honest answer.
- Isn’t it interesting that Chairman Clyburn had his mask off, with two congressional aids within 3 feet of him, for the first 2.5 minutes of this video and then he puts his mask on as soon as he knows the cameras are rolling? Coincidence?
- Why, do you suppose, can Dr. Fauci not answer the question?
- Why does it seem he does not care about the double standards of the CDC Guidelines when it comes to American Citizens versus illegal immigrants?
- Why is it that no one seems to care about the complete censoring and silencing of a US State Governor and licensed physicians, when they publicly disagree with the almighty Dr. Fauci?
- Why is it that Dr. Fauci is the highest paid government employee, when almost every one of his recommendations have now been proven, with a year worth of data, to be wrong almost every time?
